Orange County Historical

O.C. History Roundup. I’m in Orange County (CA) right now, where I grew up and where my parents live. I came across this site a few days ago, and it definitely merits a link and a mention. Blogger Chris Jepson has lived in OC for 30 years, and works in local history in some fashion. The most recent post features vintage movies of Disneyland.

Susan,

Thanks for the plug. And thanks for your site too. While there are many ways to gather and study history, there is no substitute for good oral histories.

Locally, we have the Center for Oral & Public History (http://coph.fullerton.edu) at California State University Fullerton. They do an excellent job of teaching, collecting and archiving oral history.

For the record, I’m the Assistant Archivist for the Orange County Archives (http://www.OCArchives.com), which is operated under the auspices of the Orange County Clerk-Recorder’s office.

Thanks again,

Chris
